About this space
We rise by lifting each other. This is the spirit of our gratitude space in the internal newsletter — a corner to celebrate those small gestures that make a difference, even if they often go unnoticed.
This space is for colleagues, by colleagues — it’s not from the management, it’s from the team, for the team. It’s about valuing what we are together, recognizing the effort, care, and presence. If you’d like to thank a colleague, this is the place. It will be published in the next newsletter.
Shout out
Francisca Albergaria wants to share a big thank you to Maria Santos, Susana Reis and Mariana Pereira for their dedication during the Pre-school Assessment for School Readiness. 67 students were looked at in a holistic manner in order to identify their strengths and needs for stimulation/intervention. The main goal is to support their development and transition to grade 1 and support the Pre-school teachers in their in-class and student development markers
And a warm thank you to the this Well-being team for raising awareness around Autism and Down syndrome —your work continues to foster a more inclusive and understanding school community.

REGENERATION FESTIVAL: WHERE SEEDS OF CHANGE WERE PLANTED
The Regeneration Festival was a gathering of ideas, practices, and hearts committed to transforming the present. Over two days at Aprendizes in Cascais, we experienced deep sharing, creativity, and collective awareness. The event featured talks, workshops, the Global Perspectives Summit, music, arts, creative cooking, games, and sensory experiences, all tailored to the appropriate age groups and needs of each participant.
The students actively participated, leading teams, organizing activities, and learning techniques such as creative mending, natural dyeing, and upcycling. They taught us new ways to care, regenerate, and rethink, challenging assumptions and showing that a more just and sustainable tomorrow can start today.
We were guided by Eunice Maia and other changemakers who left their mark, including Helena Antónia Silva, Ana Pego Monteiro, Ayala Botto, Rute Candeias, Movimento Claro & Torre PLSTK, KitchenDates, Débora Carneiro, Associação SEI Portugal, EcoX, Catarina Matos, Mind The Trash, Electrão, Associação Let's Swap, Joana Xardoné, Frederico Soares, Joana Guerra Tadeu, Mariana Silva, Ethica, Flávia Lins, Food Educators, Tinctorium Studio, AIMM, Ecomood Portugal, André Maciel, Livia Tirone, Mariana Gomes, COMBINE EU Project, ExFire, Salomé Areias, Ebba Rosendall, Melanie Koorstra, Talho das Manas, Sara Félix, and Último Recurso.

Highlight event
CAISL MUN - MODEL UNITED NATIONS
On April 29, from 08:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Aprendizes School will go to the CaisL Model United Nations (MUN), transforming the space into a global diplomatic stage.
This impactful event will involve several schools, with students stepping into the roles of diplomats, debating urgent global issues and proposing resolutions, fostering leadership, critical thinking, and collaboration.
FINAL STRETCH BEFORE THE CAMBRIDGE EXAMS
As we enter the final stretch before the June 2025 Cambridge exam season, we’d like to thank you all for your continued support during this busy period. A quick reminder that ICT/IT practical exams will take place during the Easter break, and written exams will run from April 25 to June 10.
Revision sessions will be offered during study leave and communicated to students by subject teachers. A supervised study room will also be available on campus to help support students.
We’d also like to remind all invigilators that there will be a training (refresh session) on Monday, April 14 at 8:30 AM. Your presence is essential to ensure we’re aligned on procedures and ready for the season ahead. Thank you for all your support.
LICE ALERT!
We kindly ask parents to take advantage of the Easter holiday break to carefully check their children's hair using a fine-tooth comb.
We also recommend treating lice at home with appropriate lotion, an electric comb, or through a specialized clinic. You can find more information here.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation in quickly and effectively resolving this situation.
April’s Seasonal Star: Broad Beans
This month, the star of our kitchen is broad beans! Rich in protein, fiber, and B vitamins, broad beans are perfect for children's growth and development.
They also aid digestion and strengthen the immune system.
At school, they can be served in soups, salads, purées, or traditional dishes, providing a nutritious and tasty meal for our little ones.
What's even better is that many of them come directly from our garden!
New partner | Equicascais
The Pony Club is designed for children aged between 3 and 6 years old.
The activity begins with cleaning Pingalim, the pony from Equicascais, followed by an individual lesson with exercises tailored to each rider, and finishing with a nice bath, weather permitting.
The aim is to involve the children in the entire cleaning and preparation process of the pony, both before and after the lesson, assigning small tasks to each child.
The lessons take place every Saturday morning at 10:30 AM, by appointment! The activity lasts approximately 45 minutes.
No experience is required, just a good mood and clothes that can get dirty.
