Screens: It’s Complicated – a digital well-being workshop for parents | Telas: uma relação complicada – uma conversa aberta sobre os ecrãs em casa

On 3 and 4 November, our community came together for Screens: It’s Complicated, a workshop organised by our Digital Well-being and Safety Committee and led by Bruno Bergher. To make it easier for everyone to attend, the workshop ran in two sessions: one on Tuesday morning and another on Wednesday afternoon. Both were open to the whole community, and families were welcome to bring relatives and friends along.

From parents, for parents

Many parents worry about screens, but feel tired of being told they are getting it wrong. This workshop set out to do things differently. Created by parents, for parents, the sessions combined honest facts with practical ideas that families can put into action in everyday life.

Rather than offering ready-made rules, the workshop created space for an open conversation about screen use at home, free from judgement and grounded in real experiences. Parents shared questions, doubts and strategies that work (and some that don’t), recognising that every family finds its own balance.

Why digital well-being matters

Digital well-being is one of the biggest challenges families face today, and no one should have to tackle it alone. Research shows that habits can change quickly once there is a clear plan in place, and that sharing the journey with others makes that change easier to sustain. Conversations like this one help families take the first step.

Thank you

We were delighted to welcome so many parents and staff members across both sessions. Thank you to Bruno Bergher, to the Digital Well-being and Safety Committee and to everyone who joined the conversation and helped make it so meaningful.

Ambas estiveram abertas a toda a comunidade, e as famílias puderam trazer familiares e amigos.
