5th Grade Bring the Tradition of Janeiras to Life | Alunos do 5.º Ano Dão Vida à Tradição das Janeiras

As part of their Portuguese classes, the 5th-grade students recreated the traditional Portuguese custom of singing Janeiras. After learning about this New Year tradition, the students wrote their own original lyrics, filled with positive messages and wishes for the year ahead.

They then went from classroom to classroom, joyfully singing their Janeiras and sharing good wishes with the school community. This activity allowed students to explore cultural traditions in a creative way while developing their writing and performance skills.

It was a lively and meaningful celebration that brought smiles, music, and a sense of shared tradition to our school.

Na aula de Português, os alunos do 5.º ano recriaram a tradição de cantar as Janeiras. Depois de conhecerem melhor este costume associado ao início do novo ano, escreveram uma nova letra, repleta de mensagens positivas e votos de bom ano.

Com entusiasmo, os alunos andaram de sala em sala, cantando as suas Janeiras e partilhando desejos de um feliz ano novo com a comunidade escolar. Esta atividade permitiu trabalhar a escrita, a expressão oral e o contacto com as tradições culturais portuguesas de forma criativa e envolvente.

Foi um momento alegre e significativo, que encheu a escola de música, sorrisos e espírito de partilha.
