Observing, Reflecting, Improving: An Outdoor Lesson | Observar, Refletir, Melhorar: Uma Aula no Exterior

In Global Perspectives class, 5th grade recently experienced a different kind of research lesson. While developing action plans to address problems identified within the school, the students decided to take advantage of the good weather and move their work outdoors.

Instead of staying in the classroom, the lesson took place in the school playground — a space directly connected to the improvements being considered. Being in this environment helped the students observe more carefully, reflect on real challenges, and develop more practical and meaningful ideas.

This hands-on approach made the learning experience more engaging and allowed the students to better connect their research with real-life situations. It was a valuable opportunity for collaboration, idea sharing, and meaningful progress towards improving the school environment.

Na aula de Global Perspectives, o 5.º ano teve recentemente uma aula de pesquisa diferente. Enquanto desenvolviam planos de ação para os problemas identificados na escola, os alunos decidiram aproveitar o bom tempo e realizar o trabalho no exterior.

Em vez de permanecerem na sala de aula, a aula decorreu no recreio da escola — um espaço diretamente ligado às melhorias em análise. Estar neste ambiente ajudou os alunos a observar com mais atenção, a refletir sobre desafios reais e a desenvolver ideias mais práticas e significativas.

Esta abordagem prática tornou a aprendizagem mais envolvente e permitiu aos alunos ligar melhor a investigação a situações reais. Foi uma oportunidade valiosa de colaboração, partilha de ideias e progresso significativo na melhoria do ambiente escolar.
