WELCOMING OUR ERASMUS PARTNERS FROM CZECHIA

Our school hosted eight students and four teachers from Scioskola, Czechia, who observed and joined classes, including Spanish and SER. This visit marks the first stage of a two-part Erasmus exchange; in January, six of our students will travel to Czechia. Together, both groups are creating a school policy proposal on AI. Beyond learning, the programme strengthened friendships, with shared moments and lasting memories. We look forward to continuing this partnership.

PRESCHOOL

FROM GARDEN TO TABLE: LITTLE HANDS AT WORK

Os Salteadores enjoyed a hands-on food journey, harvesting lettuce, beetroot, and parsley from the school garden before washing, preparing, and mixing them into a colourful salad. The children proudly ate their creation at lunch. The activity promoted healthy eating, teamwork, and a deeper connection to nature — a joyful and delicious learning experience.

PRIMARY

LEARNING PORTUGUESE VOCABULARY THROUGH PLAY

Grade 1 PLNM students learned Portuguese vocabulary for body parts through music, movement, and art. Working in pairs, they drew different body parts and combined them to create a funny class monster. The playful activity sparked creativity, laughter, and enthusiastic language learning.

MIDDLE

CRITICAL THINKING IN ACTION: 7A’S ACADEMIC DEBATE

Class 7A turned their classroom into a formal debate stage to discuss the legalization of the death penalty. Students defended assigned positions using researched arguments and followed strict rules overseen by a judge. The activity promoted critical thinking, teamwork, and respectful dialogue — a powerful learning experience for future leaders.

SECONDARY

ADVENTURE & ACHIEVEMENT IN THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH’S BRONZE EXPEDITION

33 students from Years 9–12 completed the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition, hiking a 22 km route through the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park in six teams. The challenge showcased their resilience, teamwork, and sense of adventure. As part of the international programme, the experience promoted independence, responsibility, and collaboration. With an overnight stay at school, the expedition ran smoothly, and participation was higher than in previous years. Congratulations to all students and staff involved.
