Dear Families,
Next Friday, 30 January, between 4:15 pm and 6:00 pm, another edition of our Bio Market– Solidarity Edition will take place.
This edition has a special meaning: the institutions that partner with the school in the secondary students’ volunteering programmes will have the opportunity to present their projects, share their work, and/or receive donations from our community.
Due to the unpredictability of the weather conditions and the possibility of rain, the event will take place in the school canteen.
In addition to the institutions, we will also count on our usual and much-valued participants — students, parents, the school team, internal projects, and kitchen suppliers — who make each edition of the Bio Mkt a true moment of meeting and sharing.

(throughout this week, at the school reception)
We will be accepting specific donations requested by our partners:
Helpo
Associação Helpo is a Non-Governmental Organization for Development that implements support programs and projects in the fields of humanitarian aid and education in Portugal, Mozambique, São Tomé e Príncipe, and Guinea-Bissau. In Cascais, it runs an after-school center for children and supports their families in Fontainhas.
A5 notebooks, black cover, lined and/or squared
Boxes of coloured pencils (12 units)
Reflective vests
In the rural communities where Helpo works in Mozambique (Nampula and Cabo Delgado provinces), there is no public lighting and many schools operate in shifts, with the third shift ending after dark. Reflective vests help significantly reduce the risk of road accidents on the children’s and young scholarship students’ journey home.
Refood
Refood is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to reducing food waste and alleviating hunger. It collects surplus food from restaurants and shops and distributes it to those in need. Created in 2011 by Hunter Halder in Lisbon, it has more than 60 units in Portugal and is also starting in Spain, Italy, Brazil and USA. Whenever there is good food left at Aprendizes, it is donated to Refood Cascais.
